Cultural Experience in Uruguay
Join me, Laura Suárez, for a 3-hour cultural experience at Advance Uruguay’s home, “La Remolona,” located in Solymar, just 30 minutes from downtown Montevideo.
About Workshop
With over 30 years of experience teaching Spanish and English, I’ll guide you through a fun and interactive Spanish lesson.
This experience is the perfect way to immerse yourself in Uruguay’s language, culture, and cuisine, all while enjoying a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
What else can you expect?
You’ll learn the basics of introducing yourself, as well as essential phrases for common situations like shopping, ordering food, navigating airports, and asking for directions.
If the weather is nice, we’ll take the lesson outdoors in my beautiful garden, surrounded by nature, with the option to relax by the pool. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit so you can take a refreshing dip while we learn!
After the lesson, we’ll prepare Uruguay’s beloved mate and tortas fritas (fried pastries).
Enjoy these classic treats while soaking up the sun, swimming, or simply relaxing in the peaceful garden. We could even take the mate and stroll to the nearby beach, just a 5-minute walk away, to enjoy the beauty of the coast.
As we prepare everything, I’ll share the fascinating history of mate, answer any questions you have about our culture, and set the mood with some traditional Uruguayan music.
